WARTILE is a creation that is meant to bridge the gap between a real time strategy and a tabletop games, with elements of card play mixed in. Figurine characters that you control begin scenarios on dioramas that are intricately designed and is comprised of many hexagonal tiles that characters move throughout. Each scenario has multiple objectives that are as simple as killing every enemy, and as complex as lighting tents on fire to prevent reinforcements, while also preventing an alarm from being sound when killing sleeping soldiers.

The Jackbox Party Pack 4 includes six (well, five and a half) new Jackbox party titles for a quick laugh with a lot of friends or family. The different titles included can be fun, and if your friends and family are crazy, they can be a blast; enjoyment really falls down how rowdy you’re willing to be.

Throne of Lies is yet another addition to the very specific social deduction genre, requiring time and patience to get the best experience.  For those who don’t mind doing a little bit of homework before starting a game, Throne is a great experience which raises the bar for the genre.

The OPN interview with Jason Kim, Cardboard Utopia. Children of Zodiarcs is a story-driven, tactical RPG set in the fantasy realm of Lumus; a world divided by affluence and poverty. Take control of Nahmi and her fellow outcasts, utilising a brand new deck and dice based combat system to strike a blow to the noble Lords’ and Ladies’ unquenchable thirst for profit.

Strategy and Tactics: Dark Ages by Herosoft is the latest iteration of a risk-style board game that is enhanced by persistent upgrades to generals and leaders and a large variety of different troop types and formation options. In the end however, the bigger army wins, and getting the bigger army in this turn based game is disappointingly trivial.

Blood Bowl 2, the sequel to the video game adaptation of Games Workshop's classic tabletop game combining American football with the Warhammer fantasy world, will expand in September with Blood Bowl 2: Legendary Edition. Screenshots of the new races and the new stadium coming with the Legendary Edition came with the news that pre-orders are available starting today.

Chess Ultra is a fantastic entry in the world of virtual chess, delivering much more than is expected from a chess title. While the actual chess gameplay isn’t revolutionary, Chess Ultra’s entertaining tutorials and challenge modes make it a worthwhile play for beginners and experts alike. Those looking for chess in virtual reality, however, might want to look elsewhere.

In all, Race for the Galaxy is a good, if not brilliant, digital remake of a popular card game. It’s not buggy or confusing, it’s got all the cards and it does all the hard work of setup and tracking the game state for you, and the game itself is just like the original, which is considered a well-made and established head-to-head economic card game. Fans of the original card game, or card games in general: get this one.

Faeria's gameplay shines, and what it lacks in narrative it more than makes up for in strategy. While Faeria won’t appeal to some casual players and viewers, players that enjoy delving into sophisticated and nuanced gameplay will be amply rewarded.

If you're looking for a full $20 worth of gameplay purchases, I would have to tell you that WARTILE is simply not at that level yet. It's cool, it's fun and it is deadly short. I'd like to see where it is in 6 months or so (it's taken three years to get it to where it is already), but at the moment, all WARTILE can be considered is an interesting framework for a good game without the content necessary to actually be that game.

Nyheim is a strikingly illustrated dice-rolling game which emphasizes the challenging survival element inherent in any post-apocalyptic title. While the difficulty seems challenging at first, once you have established certain strategies, Nyheim risks feeling repetitive.

Gremlins is an engrossing and exciting title that will surprise you every round and, in fact, it might be one of the best digital board games yet. OPN recommends Gremlins all the way to the bank, where we will then play a card to steal all your money and ascend to gremlin godhood.

Overall, 3D Chess has some cool ideas and nice visuals, but the lack of audio, online compatibility, and difficulty settings prevent it from standing out and making it a chess game to return to, over and over again. I give 3D Chess a 6 out of 10.

Ortus Arena is a great concept, but it needs more meat and marketing to flesh out its appeal to a wider audience. Too heavily does it rely on its unpopulated online mode, with a single player mode that is too easily defeated once you've been trained.

The world of Armello is incredibly charming, and Elyssia, Ghor, Magma, and Sargon look sophisticated, complex, and utterly charming. I suppose the $9.99 USD price tag could a bit high for a DLC, the base game being at $19.99 USD on Steam, but it remains indisputable: The Usurpers Hero Pack is a valuable addition to my Armello addiction.

Overall, The Warlock of Firetop Mountain is different from typical RPGs and offers a substantial amount of potential—the developers did say they are working on adding more content and this is partly why I am more inclined to recommend checking it out.

This is an intense strategy board game in a steampunk world of corrupt capitalist gremlins who compete for money, political power and prestige. Save and invest, steal and extort, arrest and get arrested – in single-player and multiplayer modes, with ranks and ladders. Unleash your inner gremlin!

The battles will make you seriously strategize and the complete European coalition teaming up against you will make you sympathize a bit with the Emperor of Elba. This is definitely a thinking (wo)man’s title - no History books required. Vive la France!

If you're a die hard 40k fanatic who will simply consume anything Games Workshop related, refuse to play a physical copy of Relic, and see no real value to engaging your brain for as much as 4 or 5 hours at a time, then Talisman: The Horus Heresy is for you!
