11 Bit Studios was founded in 2009, and since then we've released six games. This War of Mine was the latest and Frostpunk is the next. In the early years we had a philosophy of making games that mix genres or turn genres upside down. For example, inverted tower defense became tower offense, which was the idea behind Anomaly Warzone Earth. The philosophy evolved into making innovative games with a focus on thought-provoking topics and that's what drove us into creation of This War of Mine. The further step is Frostpunk. This is a game that questions morality as you play as the leader of a society in the last city on Earth, in an alternate history where the whole Earth freezes in the XIX century.

11 bit reveals a brand new developer update video that asks how much the world’s current political climate has in common with the highly anticipated, Frostpunk. When life imitates art, where do the boundaries of human morality fall?

Lost Goblin announced that Goblins of Elderstone will premiere on Q1 2018 on Steam Early Access. Lost Goblin is a very small, but fierce indie studio based in New Zealand. Founded in 2014 with the dream of making small, high-quality, independent games. Gustav Seymore is the creative chief and founder of Lost Goblin.

Codebyfire unveils the debut trailer for The Colonists, its delectable planetary settlement game. The Colonists is a settlement building game inspired by classic titles like The Settlers and the Anno series.

Aven Colony is a planetary colonization, city-building simulator that salutes the memes of classic sci-fi while making a memorable impression all its own. The objective-driven campaign mode introduces mechanics and controls on a smooth difficulty curve which you can manage organically by how fast you expand your city and how rigorously you prepare for threats. While at times shallowly implemented, the trade, production, and expedition systems offer a variety of options for you to complete your goals. Simulation noobs will find this release easy to pick up, but only veterans can appreciate all the small details that went into Aven Colony's design.

Building management sim Project Highrise now has its very first expansion for PC & Mac, introducing casinos, nightclubs, hotels, VIPs and more to the much-loved game by Chicago outfit SomaSim. Welcome to the ostentatious but brilliant lands of Las Vegas.

For what Northgard sets out to do, it does well, and with the content that is soon to come, the title is promising and worth getting at its price point, especially for those who enjoy empire-building titles. One may, however, be dismayed by the fact that there are not that many buildings to construct (there is a lack of a stable, for instance), but given the relatively quick gameplay, this may not be entirely necessary.

Urban Empire boasts a political system crafted with fun and originality in mind, as well as historical accuracy and gorgeous aesthetics. Yet even such impressive features do not make up for a lack of dimension and depth on which the success of simulators almost exclusively depend. Then is my final issue, the price point; you can purchase Urban Empire for $39.99, which is steep.  But hey, if political rants on Facebook don’t quite scratch your itch, then maybe this political simulator will!

Suncrash makes Hell-on-Earth seem divine. While the visuals are plain and the combat can be cumbersome, the simulation and management aspects of the game are well thought-out and elegant. With rich, immersive gameplay and various difficulty settings, Judgment promises to pull in fans of the genre and newcomers alike.

Industry Manager - Future Technologies wasn’t developed for broad accessibility, it was developed to scratch the itch that simulation gamers have, an itch that is not scratched easily.
