Daemon X Machina needs some work. Its mechanics are rough, its controls are unwieldy and confusing, and its story is difficult to follow. While it’s mildly entertaining to pilot a giant robot, there are other games that pull off the experience more effectively.

A solid and frantic PvP FPS for VR, Telefrag makes use of 3D space to create awesome arenas where death can come from any direction and your movement is only limited by your creativity.

For fans of MOBAs or battle royales, you owe it to yourself to give Battlerite Royale a try. Improvements do need to be made, but there’s no doubt you’ll have a ton of fun playing with a friend.

Scum is a fresh, deep, immersive, and enjoyable survival title. Prepare to fight, loot, and scavenge, and even satisfy the human body's most basic needs. Your time in Scum will not be dull, but you may desync from the servers or find some teleporting lag warriors around the airfield.

MEMORIES OF MARS (MoM) is an early access action/survival game by Limbic Entertainment and 505 Games. MoM is a relatively new addition to the Steam Store and is currently receiving regular updates. As the name suggests, the title is set in outer space and has the player explore and colonize the Red Planet.

With fun maps, music, and game-changing settings, Taco Gun is enjoyable each time you play, whether you’re new to the game or have played numerous rounds against your friends. If you like local PvP games, this one is worth adding to your collection.

Hunt: Showdown caters to those looking for deeper strategy and a slower pace than typical battle royale offerings provide.

Stunlock Studios today revealed the first details of Battlerite Royale, a combination of an Action MOBA/Arena Brawler and the Battle Royale survival gameplay. Featuring a map 30 times larger than the standard arena mode map, Battlerite Royale throws 20 players into a cutthroat island deathmatch, played “Free For All” or as a duo.

Maelstrom navigates seas of endless potential with its ship-based battle royale system. Gorgeous seafaring visuals and deeply satisfying gameplay make this title gloriously promising in its infancy. Maelstrom’s path to success, however, has the potential to be just as perilous as its namesake — either swallowing the title into its vortex or hurling it into stardom.

Independent studio MercurySteam today announced that Hades Betrayal, the third premium campaign for Raiders of the Broken Planet, is available now for PC.

The development team of Goblinz Studio, founded by Johann Verbroucht, met with OPnoobs at the Paris Games Week and presented us with their new title, Robothorium: a futuristic, turn-based, tactical RPG where you run robots with several various skill trees — it’s up to the player to choose the one that suits him or her the best. Campaign mode and PvP are also present.

Raiders of the Broken Planet just isn’t there yet. While an alpha build of the title showed promise, the title has much development ground to cover yet. Raiders of the Broken Planet isn’t half-baked: it barely got into the oven before players were encouraged to start eating the dough.

The moments I did have a good time were few and far inbetween, often overlooked and bogged down by repetitious fights and long periods of grinding out moves and experience. The glitches I experienced were numerous, but thankfully Sloclap is aware of most of these problems and is releasing patches to help eliminate them, while also adding new features. If you’re looking for crazy flashy combos and special moves, this isn’t the title for you. While Absolver is a fighting game, it’s a far cry from the likes of Street Fighter, Tekken, or Injustice. With many moves grounded in reality, or at least inspired by them, Absolver’s combat system still requires strategy, but even moreso patience — a quality for which many do not play fighting games.

Prime Arena as it stands today is a fantastic taste of what a game it truly could be. It has stunning potential if it can fully deliver on the brilliant concept, but for now, it is falling short. That being said, it is only in alpha testing stages still, and the developers are very active in seeking out feedback from their community to better the game. In the period of time it has taken to write this review, strong changes have already been seen, improving the game drastically in real time. Prime Arena may only be in its early stages, but it is constantly evolving, and is more than worth keeping an eye on.

Independent developer Fatshark today announced the sequel to the million selling game Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide.

Bad Seed announces multiplayer post-apocalyptic turn-based INSIDIA to launch Open Beta on Steam this summer. INSIDIA is a tactical game, where players control a band of four champions in hectic turn-based online PvP battles. Build your team from a colorful roster of wild characters, including fierce punks, mutated wizards and steampunk knights, each with their own unique set of abilities and skills, and then duel it out in thrilling 15-minute matches.

Albion Online, the brand new MMO PvP game, from the Berlin-based studio Sandbox Interactive, is portrayed as a sandbox MMO with a player-driven economy and robust PvP. However, it falls short on both its promise and entertainment value. With thousands of players online simultaneously, a huge landmass to explore, and plenty of room for Guild vs Guild combat, Albion Online has potential to be an outstanding experience — but this is yet to be the case.

inVokeR is, by far, the best spell-casting virtual reality experience that I’ve played, thanks in large part to its immersive controls and exciting combat. If more modes and features get added past those initially available, inVokeR would have no problem becoming the must-have VR experience for those wishing to duel in the world of wizards.
