Verdun World Championship Finals: Rules and Regulations

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

When is the event? The Verdun World Championship 2017-2018 Finals are a weekend-long competition casted live on Twitch, to be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15, 2018. The North American region competes on Saturday, April 14, 2018. The European region competes on Sunday, April 15, 2018.

How can I participate? This event is by invitation only. All Team Captains are required to register.

Where can I watch the Finals? The Finals will be entertained on Discord and casted live on Twitch.

When does registration close? Registration closes on Thursday, April 12, at 12PM CEST.

Can I register as a player? All qualified players invited to register.

Why should I register? Help your captain by keeping informed. Register to receive important email announcements regarding schedule, prize pools, stream alerts, and more.

How do I know if I'm qualifed for this event? All teams with 30 points accumulated throughout the Verdun World Championship Qualifiers are eligible to register. Contact your Team Captain for further inquiry.

When will we be informed of the schedule?
The Finals Schedule will be announced on the website, the E4i Steam Group, the OPN Discord, and emailed to registered players on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 12PM CEST.

How will I compete in-game? Be online at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled match. Captain of Team 1 will create the private match 10 minutes prior to match time. All players are to join shortly after and prior to match time.

Matches

  • Each match is two rounds
  • Player 1 Captain to set squad levels to 100
  • Entente attacks first on each map and for each round
  • Team 1 starts as Entente and Team 2 starts as CP
  • Players can be freely switched during breaks rounds

WHAT WE NEED TO TELL YOU

Each team must nominate 8 players minimum, and designate a team captain and a viceĀ­-captain who makes team decisions in the absence of the captain. Team captains should be available for communication on encounter day.

Each team must organize their 8 players into not more than two squads. Squad types can be freely chosen and can be changed during the match as often as required.

The winner of a match is the team with the greater combined score across both rounds. Tiebreakers: (1st) greater combined kill count; (2nd) greater combined points total.

Base Requirements

  • All players must install the newest version of the game in order to participate in E4i events

  • Updates must be installed before the event starts, so that delays will be at a minimum.

  • Participants must satisfy the minimum hardware and networking requirements as specified by the development studio.

  • Intermittent connectivity issues are acceptable as tolerated by the event organizers.

Forfeit

  • Failure to be ready to play at match time may be considered a forfeit.

  • The match may be postponed for no more than 15 additional minutes to allow for late player(s) to join or to resolve technical difficulties. Past the 15 minutes grace periods, registered substitutes will fill empty spots and proceed with the event. The missing team is eliminated.

Prizes

  • Available prizes can be viewed here.

  • No cash or other substitution may be made.

  • Winners are responsible for taxes or fees associated with receipt or use of a prize.

  • The Overpowered Noobs, LLC is not responsible for faulty game keys provided by third-party suppliers. In the event a game key is unredeemable, The Overpowered Noobs, LLC will replace said game key with another key for the same title if in stock, or with a key for another title of equal market value.

Code of Conduct

Unsportsmanlike conduct towards other players, community members, or officials may result in warnings, suspensions, score penalties, or temporary or permanent disqualification. Please be civil.

A no-show at consecutive events is a one-cycle ban from E4I events.

Cheating shall result in lifetime disqualification from E4I events.

At what time will the event begin on Twitch and Discord?

  • U.S. West Cost: 10:30AM PST

  • U.S. East Coast: 1:30PM EST

  • Europe: 7:30PM CET

E4i registration forms allow players to join the E4i Bench. In other words, state your willingness to hang out on Discord during the event and if needed, volunteer for missing players. Win or lose, you'll win a free game every time you sub in!

Bench Details:

  • Step 1: Reply "YES" to join the bench while registering.

  • Step 2: Stay online on Discord during the event and be ready to play: E4i staff may send you a private message at any time!

  • Failure to join Discord 24 hours prior to the event automatically removes you from the Bench list for this specific event.
