A concise, enjoyable, and thoroughly exciting, a 2D-fighting game with a single player mode varied enough for a person to get the full experience, and if you’re able to play alongside friends, you'll definitely be in for competitive fun.
Story RPGs like these can grab players like me, so long as I don't hit too many walls. The lack of good conveyance was the biggest hurdle and did cause me to take a break once in a while. I'd throw this as a recommendation for people who enjoyed Drakengard 3, since it delivers a lot of the same tone and flavor.
"RefRain -prism memories-" is the most engaging bullet hell style shoot 'em up I've ever played. Granted, I've only played one other true bullet hell series, the Touhou Project titles, which I call the most mesmerizing in the genre. Either way I'm a crazy person.
Being a jack of all trades in this genre makes it hard to be noticed. It's not a surprise that the online multiplayer is barren, with virtually no possibility of finding a sizable group of strangers. Getting friends interested in committing is difficult, as well. Having good keyboard controls and physical mobility fails to make up for how hard it is to gather folks. Though Coffin Dodgers requires a community to shine, it hasn't attracted a dedicated fanbase to stand on its own.

Pharaoh Rebirth+ found a fantastic equilibrium. It distilled plenty of notable metroidvania concepts into a fun collection. The thought that went into the details and atmosphere is noticeable. Playing a cursed bunny who transverses through an Egyptian landscape is as fun as the pitch makes it sound. This isn't an indie title that's trying something new; instead, the delicacies from previous eras of explorative platformers have been compiled for our consumption. It's is a great compilation of what we love about this particular genre, and acts as a perfect introduction for those who've never played metroidvanias.
I am disappointed with Far Cry Primal, and rate it a 6 out of 10. I had to trudge through far too much muck to find bits of satisfaction. It's playable, but has no substance to act as backbone. There are no new challenges for people to face. No story presents itself for an audience to get engaged. No advancements are in sight, making this title thoroughly undistinguished.
Although no raw innovation is involved, Bunker Punks delivers a solid shooter experience. It's a test of PvE skill in a simple space. There is a risk and return for every playing method, which capitalizes on replay value. Being greedy and rash will lead to repetition, but going slow and steady will be frustrating. It's up to you to strike a balance.
