Curse of the Dead Gods is a colorful, adaptive, and fresh take on a jungle temple environment where a sole player is on a journey full of enemies, treasures, and pain.

While a serviceable dungeon crawler, the lack of polish keeps Conglomerate 451 from being truly engaging.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night originally planned for a roguelike mode that would feature procedurally generated dungeons during its Kickstarter phase back in mid-2015. The campaign broke the threshold to unlock that mode as a stretch goal. Ever since the game’s (eventual) launch, I’ve checked the Kickstarter page frequently in hopes of promised content, especially a roguelike mode.

The development team behind Alder’s Blood has clearly put a lot of thought into crafting a striking experience, and while the game has style and an engaging core gameplay loop, it’s also so shaky and unpolished it is difficult to recommend.

An FTL-inspired rogue-lite, Crying Suns falls short of what made that game fun and exciting by being repetitive and boring.

While it might not have extremely in-depth management as much as most would like from an RPG, it has enough style and presentation to make it a worthwhile adventure for those looking for a unique take on Dark Fantasy video games.

Newcomers to the roguelite genre will certainly find some fun in Infected Shelter but I am not confident that experienced roguelite players will find much new or exciting with this title.

Genesis Alpha One is downright fun. I have found myself in awe each time I’ve booted the title up and begun my journey through the beautiful and despair-filled Alpha Quadrant. Each planet, enemy, and ship module feels unique and intimidating. Towards the end of this review, I will talk about some improvements I would like to see in this title, but keep in mind this titleis in Early Access until early 2020.

For those who enjoy exploring, BELOW is a great addition to your game library, especially for those who enjoy atmospheric elements.

A tightly designed, fast-paced, top-down roguelite, Synthetik will no doubt entertain for hours. With the release of the new Legion Rising free update, there’s even more to enjoy.

Fatally flawed with bugs, soft locks, and incomplete map generation, Deep Sky Derelicts is a fun game when it works. More often than not, however, it doesn’t work.

Lovecraft’s Untold Stories is an amalgam of horror, madness, mystery, and the unknown. Choose from five unique characters as you fight your way through 12 randomly generated levels. The variety of Cthulhu-esque baddies in this game really are impressive, featuring everything from gun-toting cultists to deformed, flying nightmares. Thankfully, human and horror are equally vulnerable to molotovs and machine guns.

To Hell with Hell uses a plethora of exhaustible masks with abilities to offer a great new mechanic to the roguelike crawler genre, but overall lacks a considerable amount of mechanical fine-tuning.

A colorful and clever take on both the fishing and dogfighting genres, Airheart - Tales of broken Wings is a roguelike flight indie that soars higher in theory than in practice.

Dead Cells is a daring roguevania platformer that takes several gambles with its innovative gameplay and ultimately double-jumps away with the jackpot.

Ward off monstrous attacks during the despairing midnight hour in Grimmwood — They Come at Night, the strategy indie where you must work together as a village to have even a glimmer of hope of surviving.

Free from bugs, but otherwise not having much to recommend it, Insane Robots suffers from a series of poor design decisions that wind up making it exceedingly average.

Wizard of Legend finally delivers the spellcasting combat that mage fanboys have been dreaming of, with fast-paced action and seamless bending of the elements.
