Alec Cudmore

Alec Cudmore loves video games and music, and whenever the two manage to intertwine. Writing is another passion of his, and he enjoys any journalism work he can do regarding either one of the two previously mentioned art forms. His favorite game is Shadow of the Colossus because it changed his entire perspective on what video games can accomplish, on an artistic and emotional level. The soundtrack was dope too. A closet poet and music composer, Alec spends his free time trying to finish at least one artistic project without going insane.

The Falling Nights Review

The Falling Nights is clearly a passionate undertaking; taking four years of development to make. This feels like an incredibly ambitious title for a studio that is just starting to find its bearings. Delusion Arts Entertainment shot for the moon on this one, but they'll have to settle for landing amongst the not-so-bright stars of inconsistent design choices, cheap scares, and overall graphical muddiness.

BUTCHER Review

BUTCHER is a polished, extremely well-built 2D shooter that wears its difficulty on its sleeve. It's an absolute blast to play, but players may find difficulty adjusting to the incredible challenges that await them. If you have the patience to withstand this level of gameplay, you’ll be prepared to feel the rush of adrenaline when completing one of BUTCHER’s insanely hard levels. It isn't Dark Soulism, or Hotline Miamian excellence, but it comes darn close. The game looks great and plays great, and I most def recommend it to anyone looking for some brutal, arcade action.

Madrobot X Review

Madrobot X fails to mix up the genre in any meaningful way, but it doesn’t have to. It’s a cheap game that plays well and is worth checking out for anyone who is a fan of old arcade shoot ‘em ups. If you’ve got a buck and a few minutes to kill, you might as well go for it.

Zombie City Defense 2 Review

Zombie City Defense 2 does a lot of things but doesn’t quite know what it wants to be. It seems trapped between strategy and tower defense, and while a combination of the two sounds enticing, it just doesn’t have the dexterity to do both at the moment. It’s a fun concept when things make sense, but for now, it's still prone to bursts of enjoyment against waves of frustration.

Snow Horse Review

Snow Horse may be a joke, but in its current state, it isn’t funny. I do love the idea of a horse on a snowboard, but a good concept isn’t enough to recommend its purchase. With a larger selection of courses, and improved physics to add a little dynamic action to the game, there’d be hope for all snow horses out there, but priced at $6, there are better options out there for cartoony racers.

The Land of Eyas Review

With plenty of secrets to discover, an adorable protagonist, and a cool world to explore, there’s a lot appreciate in The Land of Eyas. This certainly isn’t Super Meat Boy, but for those looking for their next puzzle-platforming fix, this may be a game worth checking out.
