Fantasy Strike Rules and Regulations

All times are listed in EDT. By participating in the E4i Fantasy Strike Tournament, players affirm they meet all requirements and agree to the following rules:

  1. Player Eligibility

    1. Server Restrictions: Only European and North American players can participate.

    2. Account Standing: Players must possess Fantasy Strike and forum accounts in good standing to participate. Players with in-game or forum bans on record will not be allowed to compete.

    3. Communication: Both players on a team must have access to Discord and join the following server via this URL → https://discordapp.com/invite/RmTay8m in order to communicate with event staff and/or resolve any disputes. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

    4. Code of Conduct: Players must adhere to the following code of conduct at all times.  Players are responsible for reporting disruptive, harmful, or unsportsmanlike behavior to tournament administrators. Failure to follow the code of conduct may result in any of the penalties outlined in section 1.5

      1. Treat tournament staff and fellow players with respect. Actions and language that are insulting, threatening, abusive, or offensive are not permissible.

      2. Competitive integrity must be upheld at all times. Corrupting the competitive integrity of the tournament can occur through Hacking, Exploiting, Collusion, account sharing, registration under multiple accounts, or other methods of cheating not listed here.

      3. Players must follow the instructions or decisions of tournament staff at all times.

    5. Penalties: Penalties for breaking the Code of Conduct outlined above may result in the following penalties at the discretion of tournament administrators, depending on the severity of the infraction:

      1. Automatic disqualification

      2. Forfeiture of prizes

      3. Suspension from current and future tournaments, for a period of time to be determined by tournament administrators.

      4. Permanent ban from all future E4I events.

  2. Game Requirements

    1. Updates: Players must have the latest version of the game in-order to participate in E4I events.

    2. Technical Difficulties: Players facing technical problems during the event will be given a short grace period of 10 minutes to resolve them before being automatically disqualified.

    3. Network strength: Players must satisfy the minimum hardware and networking requirements as specified by the development studio. Intermittent connectivity issues that disrupt competition should be reported on Discord.

  3. Tournament Structure

    1. Check-in: Player check-in begins one hour before the start of the event and closes 15 minutes prior to its start. Players who do not check-in are automatically disqualified and their spot in the tournament will be taken by a player from “The Bench” (see bench rules 3.4)

    2. Confirming Participation: Players who register will be sent an email Monday, October 1 asking to confirm their participation. Reminder emails will be sent to unconfirmed players throughout the week. This confirmation period will close on Thursday, October 4 at 5:00 pm EST. Players who fail to confirm their participation will be automatically disqualified and their spot in the tournament will be taken by a player from “The Bench” (see bench rules 3.4).

    3. “No Shows”: Players who fail to check-in on time will be automatically disqualified as a “no show.” Their position in the tournament will be taken by a player from “The Bench” (see bench 3.4)  

    4. “The Bench”: If registered players fail to confirm their participation or do not check-in on time they will be automatically disqualified from the tournament and their position in the event will be open to the “The Bench.”

      1. Bench registration will open on Monday, October 1 at 5:05 EST and close when all available spots in the tournament are taken.

      2. Players who initially failed to confirm their participation are excluded from becoming a Bench player.

      3. Players still unable to find a spot on “The Bench” should still come to the event during the check-in period as they still have an opportunity to participate should there be any “No shows”

    5. Scheduling: Players will be notified of their start time and position in the bracket on Thursday, October 4th at 12:00 pm EST. These times are subject to change up to 48 hours before the event. Real time schedules will be provided live during the event and will be made available both online through Challonge and on the OPN Discord under E4I upcoming-schedule.

    6. Basic Structure and Scoring: The tournament is double-elimination where players will face each other in a best of one game of TEAM BATTLE MODE. The winner will continue to advance through the rounds and the loser will move into the loser’s bracket or be eliminated from the tournament if they are already in the loser’s bracket.

    7. Reporting Scores: Players must take a screenshot of the final screen of team battle which shows both players name as well as the overall winner. The winner of the match must post this screenshot on the OPNOOBS discord under tournament-reporting. These screenshots are of paramount importance as they are the record of a players wins as well as necessary in case of any disputes.

    8. The Finals: Players who make it into the final rounds may not drop out and offer their position to another player nor may a bench player fill in for them in case of absence. All finals rounds will be double elimination.

    9. Matches: Players must be online in both the game and on Discord 15 minutes prior each of their matches’ start time.  

    10. Streamed Matches: Throughout the day certain matches will be streamed live via Twitch.tv. Players will be notified via discord if their match is to be streamed. Players must wait for all 4 spectators to be present in their game before starting their match.

  4. Registration

    2. Tournament registration will close on Monday October 1st at 5:00 PM EST or when the tournament cap has been reached.  

    3. Bench registration will open on October 1st and close 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.
