Despite the occasionally lonely world and lacking interactivity at times, the rewarding and creative ways to complete missions make this FPS title a blast to play.
Though Pandemic Express is slightly barebones at this point in Early Access, it definitely has the potential to be a unique and impressive addition to the world of multiplayer zombie games.
An interesting take on the post-apocalyptic genre, full of beautiful vistas and a streamlined interface. Moments of awe are punctuated with run-ins with the buggy and inconsistent AI.
This squad-based tactical shooter is a fun and easy way to spend an hour, but suffers from paltry game modes, map variation, and character identity.
From the developers of PayDay 2 comes the zombie-smashing, bandit-blasting, loot-scavenging, 4-player co-op title, OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead (OTWD). While this title is set to release on November 6th, the beta weekends have begun and testing is well underway for the pre-order masses. Bugs are plentiful and “clunkiness” is fairly rampant, but that’s what betas are for, right?

With the Yeti Hunter arcade brawl that graced Overwatch’s Winter Wonderland event this year, conversation has once again piqued on the Blizzard forums: is this a subtle indication that the Overwatch dev team may be bringing a role queue to the game at large?
It's very hot on our side because today we kick off the load testing of the Escape from Tarkov game servers before the official start of the Open Beta testing at the beginning of 2018.

Tannenberg, the second entry in the realistic 1914-1918 WW1 Game Series by the creators of Verdun, will be releasing November 16 on Steam Early Access.
I never played Destiny. While it seemed to check so many of the boxes I wanted in a game, unfortunately, it could only be played on a platform that I didn’t own. A Borderlands-style loot system merged with a Halo-inspired combat experience sounded like a winning combination and, in many ways, it was.
Reports came through that publisher New Blood Interactive and developer David Szymanski have been hard at work developing DUSK, and getting ready to pull that hunk of delicious retro fps out of the development oven they’ve released the above trailer.
It’s Mayhem Monday, Agents! When LEGION's most sinister troops are wreaking havoc and MAYHEM needs to get the job done, Persephone calls on The Firing Squad.
With sparse environments that burst into color as the action unfolds, solid level design, and a low hand-holding, high satisfaction difficulty curve, Gorescript is already a title worth picking up, but with the fast-paced, visceral combat of its early nineties inspirations and the tight, responsive controls of a modern engine, this release becomes the rare homage of spirit over form that understands what made the arcade FPS of yesteryear great, and adds only the modern amenities that make it better. Definitely worth a try.
Leading publisher Maximum Games has announced Dead Alliance, an inventive take on zombie games and team-based first-person shooters expected to launch Aug. 29. Zombies in Dead Alliance are not just the enemy; they are weapons that can be strategically used to distract and destroy unsuspecting human foes in combat.
With Prey, the developer Arkane Studios has built on the proven success of its stealth shooters. The gameplay discourages a head-on approach, slowing down the pace of the action. However, the frustration of having to hide instead of fighting enemies is remedied by excellent graphic and sound design, a strong RPG element, and the possibility to gather resources and build useful devices. An additional perk is the inventive writing, which manages an immersive, haunting atmosphere.
Torn Banner Studios, creators of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, have launched a refresh of the currently-running closed beta for their upcoming magic ‘n melee multiplayer combat game Mirage: Arcane Warfare. Live on Steam now, this update includes a series of gameplay tweaks and improvements implemented by the team based on feedback from current beta testers.
If you thought Chivalry’s combat was too tedious or frustrating, Mirage is definitely worth keeping an eye on and checking out when it has an inevitable ‘free’ weekend on Steam. Torn Banner Studios has set the bar high for me, and for any fan of their previous release. Whether or not the new layer of complexity actually adds to the experience is yet to be seen, but after playing through the content currently available, I can say it’s a rewarding and admirable effort that deserves the attention and recognition it receives.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a roller coaster ride of violence that delivers gameplay that's just as entertaining as it was in its original release in 2011. While it may not have enough discrepancy from the original to justify a repurchase, as far as remasters go, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition should serve as an example for how to revitalize an older game.
