Dropzone First Tournament Announced, Enters Closed Beta

Written by

Publisher Gameforge and developer Sparkypants Studios are providing players with an early access look at Dropzone when it enters its Closed Beta testing. In celebration of the step forward in development, both teams, along with ESL, are hosting a tournament live on Twitch July 23rd and will pit top ESL-Streamers against each other.

Said to be the next revolution in RTS games, Dropzone features loads of options to play with, offering players to customize units to fit their fighting style.

The game requires deep strategy and attention management, coupled with the vast array of choices. More so than in previous RTS games, players will feel as if every decision counts. Dropzone is powered by the brand new Sparkle engine, allowing for efficient online gameplay, responsive controls, and eye-pleasing visual effects.

Stuart Jeff, Design Director for Sparkypants Studios commented on why he thinks Dropzone is the next step in RTS gaming:

“Dropzone delivers that adrenaline rush and individual excellence that comes from the classic 1v1 competitive experience we have always loved. We like to have it all on the line where the individual player is responsible for winning or losing… We’re looking forward to the feedback from beta participants, as well as these tournament match-ups and what Pros and professional Streamers can do in our game as together we take Dropzone to the next level.”

The live-stream Twitch Tournament takes place on Saturday July 23rd at 12PM CET.

Watch it here.

All viewers of the tournament will have a chance to get a beta-key being given away during the stream.
