A brand new continent is opening up in RuneScape this October.
Inspired by Polynesion culture, The Eastern Isles will allow players to start afresh, rebuilding their wealth and fame. In celebration of the new area, RuneFest 2016 will take participants on a journey to the land of islands.
The initial segment of the new continent, The Arc, is now open and contains some of the smaller islands. This is where players will rebuild their name, putting long time players and newcomers on a level playing field.
Along with further information about The Eastern Isles, RunFest 2016 will feature big announcements regarding future plans for RuneScape. Attendees can also expect to participate in themed activities, Q&A with developers, meet and greets, and other surprises.
David Osborne, lead designer of RuneScape mentioned his excitement for the convention. “We can’t wait to meet up with our fellow ‘Scapers at RuneFest 2016 as they join us for an intrepid celebration as RuneScape pushes new horizons. We’ll be showcasing the new frontiers of the Eastern Isles and announce some of new content heading to RuneScape in the year ahead. We’ll also be unveiling our plans for other games in the family, including Old School RuneScape and its ever growing popularity in the eSports sector, mobile versions of Chronicle: RuneScape Legends, and the upcoming 0.5-player game, RuneScape: Idle Adventures.”
