Rebellion Development took the groundwork laid by Sniper Elite 3 and improved upon nearly every aspect. Its large-scale environments feature an intelligent layout of objectives and abundance of sniper-aiding verticality. While Sniper Elite 4's music and story aren't going to win any awards, they aren't enough to take away from the respectable amount of content and addictive, strategy-based gameplay.

Days of War features addicting and strategic gameplay that forces you to learn the handling of the weapons to succeed. Its sound design and graphics are also top notch, but the title slightly suffers from a lack of standout maps and some lackluster optimization. That being said, for 25 dollars and with more maps and modes already announced, not to mention the upcoming level editor, it's definitely worth a look.

Agony has done a great job thus far of making a version of Hell that is complex, unsettling, or even outright disturbing. I dare to say that Agony isn’t a title most people will pick up for its intriguing plot, and it definitely delivers on what it promises thus far: Demons, Hell, gore, and a desperate fight for survival. I look forward to seeing what the creative minds at Madmind Studio accomplish before Agony releases in its final version.

Overwatch was by far one of the most significant releases for the year 2016. Like many Blizzard releases, it made waves within the gaming community. But, the formula that can be attributed to Overwatch’s success is by no means original. They simply built upon and created their own spin a genre that has been tried and true. Though, what many are speculating is if this will pull the trigger on the influx of “clones” as companies attempt to throw their hats in the ring, attempting to profit from the trend.

A nostalgic, Buffy-worthy trek into the past, with fairly challenging supernatural creatures, fun weapons, and a decent amount of strategy to be had. Ultimately, Slayer Shock is a great Retro-style choice, especially for us ‘90s kids who still love our supernatural fluff, but fans looking for a hardcore FPS game or something with more finesse might want to wait and grab this one on sale.

The backstory surrounding the mysterious events you find yourself in are beautifully thought out, with motives and perspectives changing your own thoughts and opinions of what happened on the Nautilus. If you enjoy a good story, do yourself a favor and have a little chat with Kaizen.

Star Wars Battlefront feels hollow. Hollow to the point that I wonder if the upcoming DLC will be able to revitalize it, and hollow to the point that there may be no one out there playing the game to even enjoy the new content at all. For $60, this game is unacceptably short on content and replayability.

If you have to wait for a Steam sale, I really can't blame you, but Evolve is a game that offers some thrills that you can't find many other places, so I have trouble telling people not to buy it. I want this game to survive and build on the excellent gameplay framework they've set up, but we must wait and see if the developers at Turtle Rock Studios and 2K want to make something great or milk it till it's dry. Time will tell.
