Diesel Brothers: Truck Building Simulator Review
Written by Joel HendershottA visually stunning and entertaining way to pass the time. As far as arcade racers go, this is definitely a solid one, though it isn’t entirely without flaws.
A refreshing addition to the series, with beautiful graphics and excellent combat, yet plagued with microtransactions that force you to choose between grinding or paying, as well as lackluster RNG systems.
A JRPG that will appeal to fans of the genre with its interesting setting and unique combat system, but it's ultimately marred by tedious battles and dull dialogue.
Abrakadaboom is a good game if you enjoy the genre, but there is some work to be smoothed out during the Early Access phase.
Pandemic Express – Zombie Escape Early Access Review
Written by Jade SwannThough Pandemic Express is slightly barebones at this point in Early Access, it definitely has the potential to be a unique and impressive addition to the world of multiplayer zombie games.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Review
Written by John GerritzenWhile enjoyable mechanically, it’s very much an "Act One" of a larger story. As a standalone title, there's not much here for lore buffs or power gamers.
Newcomers to the roguelite genre will certainly find some fun in Infected Shelter but I am not confident that experienced roguelite players will find much new or exciting with this title.
A masterfully-narrated moving experience that could not be told in any other media. Imperfect due to railroaded gameplay, but otherwise it could've been a revolution instead of just a great game.
An impressive amount of mechanics and a nice variety of play styles available, yet lacks depth in social interactions and suffers from a few tedious features.
A fun and refreshing take on the zombie fighting co-op experience that is hindered by network lag and unimpressive AI.
Ideal for casual players or arcade racing fans not looking for too much of a challenge, Xenon Racer has pretty environments, futuristic cars, and varied tracks.
With more things to do around the map, clear guidance through the storyline and quests, and perhaps a more comprehensive tutorial, Volcanoids could turn out to be a star on the stage of survival titles.
A successful PC port with exceptional storytelling that lacks important control options and falls short of expectations in certain technical areas.
This unique simulation still suffers from certain aches and pains that we have all come to know and loathe from Early Access titles, but it’s a solid concept paired with great attention to detail and a surprisingly in-depth simulation make for a stunning (if currently unpolished) submarine simulator.
An interesting take on the post-apocalyptic genre, full of beautiful vistas and a streamlined interface. Moments of awe are punctuated with run-ins with the buggy and inconsistent AI.
Featuring a unique Chinese aesthetic and fun, fast-paced gameplay, Bladed Fury is a great gaming experience brimming with personality.
A difficult survival game with some interesting elements that is significantly hindered by tedious mechanics and a superficial world.
Tropico 6 involves a huge time investment and a steep learning curve, but it is a solid entry in the management/sim genre.
Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko's Hysteric Birthday Bash Review
Written by Jade SwannA darkly humorous and entertaining addition to the series, Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Bash has a charming assortment of unique characters and a host of interesting choices, but doesn’t always translate well into the visual novel format. Fans of the series will enjoy seeing their favorite characters in outlandish scenarios, but the lack of any lasting consequences ultimately detracts from the title’s overall impact.
Metro Exodus is a mishmash of borrowed ideas that falls short of creating a worthy sequel, while holding tight to the previous mistakes of the series.
Despite its wonderful premise and future potential to match the loveable charm of similar titles, Willowbrooke Post is hindered by game-breaking bugs and missing content to the point where it is almost unplayable. Though it does show some promise and you should definitely keep an eye out for the full release if you’re a fan of management-based games, it can’t be recommended at this point in Early Access.
FromSoftware comes through once more to show they aren’t just a one-trick pony: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an all-around great, engaging stealth-action game.
Fate/EXTELLA LINK, with its rich cast of characters, might just remind you what you love about the hack-and-slash genre.
An improvement over its predecessor, with visuals that wow. Occasionally repetitive combat and an unengaging story are the main flaws that might deter budget-conscious gamers from buying at full price.
A beautiful and well-crafted visual novel, 7'scarletexcels at storytelling and manages to create a compelling mystery full of shocking twists and turns.
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Gathering Storm Review
Written by Cherise PapaBringing a new level of complexity and strategy with it, Gathering Storm forces you to participate in diplomacy in later eras and offers new ways to succeed with certain play styles.
Expansion - Hearts of Iron IV: Man the Guns Review
Written by Alexander LeleuxMan the Guns is a solid addition to the Hearts of Iron IV DLC line, offering excellent reworks and new components to core aspects.
Outlaws of the Old West is a promising survival MMO in Early Access, developed by Virtual Basement and published by Wandering Wizard. You wake up in a wooden coffin in the middle of nowhere, left with only the minimal clothes on your back and your will to live. With nothing but nature around you, it’s up to you to survive the harsh world and build a new life in the Wild West.
The core breaching and shooting mechanics never get old, but gameplay, sound design, and co-op mode all have some problems.
Gorgeous scenery and interesting story are outweighed by tedious combat, stilted gameplay, and a lack of variety in combat.
Fixed camera angles, boring gameplay, wooden animations, and poor localization all mar Eternity: The Last Unicorn beyond the point of being anything approaching enjoyable.
ATOM RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game Review
Written by John GerritzenIn its desire to stick to the original Fallout RPGs, ATOM RPG disregards the lessons CRPGs have learned in the intervening years. Fallen short of both its predecessors and contemporaries in the genre, ATOM RPG .
Suffering from an identity crisis, Choconoa lacks the charm it needs in order to succeed, being frustrating at worst, and forgettable at best.
Aggressors: Ancient Rome decentralizes the Civilization formula, placing a heavier emphasis on combat. Couple that with an objective system and extensive mod support, and you have a game that can keep your interest for hours.
It looks better than its predecessor, but content-wise its rather stingy and the story needs work, dampening excitement for this title.
This DLC is more of everything that was good from the core game: More characters, more plotlines, and more satisfying story.
While it won’t make any new fans of the Giant-Monster-Slaying genre, God Eater 3 introduces enough new with a new coat of paint for fans of the series to enjoy.
A remaster of the PS2 classic that adds improvements from the original, landing it in the solid-but-not-impressive category.
Fans and veterans of the 40k universe will no doubt enjoy Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, while it’s certainly still worth a look for newcomers interested in spaceship warfare.
With beautiful artwork, a compelling story with fleshed-out characters, and an original soundtrack, the few foibles and a shorter-than-you'll-want playthrough time shouldn't stop you from checking this title out.
A great Ace Combat title that follows its past formula too closely, giving you the great flight simulator you expect and no more.
Project Winter provides a refreshing take on the multiplayer survival genre and offers up some substantial promise, but is hindered by a variety of technical problems. With eight players per round, you and your fellow survivors must work together to survive the frigid landscape around you and combine your resources to call for help, all while avoiding the traitors among you and the vicious wildlife searching for their next meal. It’s a brutal world out there, and you can’t survive it alone.
While a fighting game featuring a wide variety of Weekly Shonen Jump characters seems like a no-brainer, the shoddy execution and surprisingly limited roster hinder JUMP FORCE from being the all-star it wants to be.
RESIDENT EVIL 2 / BIOHAZARD RE:2 Review
Written by Alexander LeleuxA true remake in every sense of the word, Capcom’s 2019 Resident Evil 2 captures the heart of the original in a wonderful recreation.
While there are a few interesting concepts at play in Jon Shafer’s At the Gates, they frequently go underdeveloped, leading to a lackluster experience.
Don't expect much from the visuals, music, or story in while True: learn() and simply appreciate it for its puzzles.
Challenging but repetitive, The Hong Kong Massacre has a barely-there story, but is big on gunfights and style.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Review
Written by Liam CunninghamWith updated graphics, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition brings a beloved entry into modernity, and while it's as simple as ever, it goes far toward meeting the expectations of the modern player.
Polished but short, you'll be left wanting more: more puzzles, more story, and more from this developer.

This squad-based tactical shooter is a fun and easy way to spend an hour, but suffers from paltry game modes, map variation, and character identity.
This entry in the Just Cause series has taken itself too seriously, sucking the fun out of what should be a blast.

An auto-moving strategy game, Swords and Soldiers 2: Shawarmageddon is a comic adventure with surprising strategic depth.
Bendy and the Ink Machine Chapter 5 Review
Written by Liam CunninghamWhile the last entry in the Bendy and the Ink Machine series definitely feels similar to the previous chapters, it fails to provide a satisfying ending.
Desert Child attempts to capitalize on nostalgia with a mish-mash of references from different decades. There are some mildly funny moments, but other than that it’s a side-scrolling shooter dressed up in a cyberpunk motif.
Override is an interesting take on the fighting genre. Sadly, what it has in imagination it lacks in mechanical depth.
2084, developed by Feardemic (a subsidiary of Bloober Team, which is known for Layers of Fear and Observer), is a heavily-stylized FPS with some strategy elements that is still in Early Access. While the cyberpunk-horror atmosphere manages to set a fantastic stage for the hacker protagonist, it's difficult to shake the feeling that most of the assets, at least in terms of the environment and enemy models, have been ripped directly from Observer and Layers of Fear.
Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark Early Access Review
Written by John GerritzenA revival of the old turn-based tactics game not seen since Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced, Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark has a bright future ahead of it.
Asymmetric multiplayer — the idea that different players have different abilities, roles, and perspectives in a game — is an interesting concept. It’s also an area of gaming that has potential for a lot more exploration, even though there are already some very clever concepts out there. In Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, you work together to defuse bombs.
This slightly peculiar game has a surprising amount of appeal, despite a few small flaws. Pretty environments paired with decent replayability provides a fun, relaxing few hours, at the very least.
While fans of turn-based strategy might find some features to be enjoyable, long-time players of the Jagged Alliance series and strategy connoisseurs might feel shortchanged of the beloved gameplay of this genre.
Beholder 2’s strengths include great storytelling, impactful choices, and high replayability, while its weaknesses are unavoidable, repetitive mini-games and lack of fast travel.
Taking clear inspiration from games like XCOM, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden expands upon the formula by mixing up how you think about stealth, skill trees, and storylines, truly making it a unique and refreshing entry into the turn-based strategy genre.
Create exactly the motorcycle you want, then ride it on an impressive number of tracks, with great visuals and awesome sounds for an experience that feels realistic.
With gorgeous artwork, a mysterious story, and a rich atmosphere, Iris.Fall entertains for its length, yet suffers from a brevity of content.
As far as Early Access goes, HellSign has a lot to offer. Clocking in at around twelve hours of content, it has an interesting core gameplay loop that is satisfying to replay.

Total War: WARHAMMER II - Curse of the Vampire Coast Review
Written by Bric HudsonFrom the seas comes the undead hordes of the Vampire Coast. Prepare yourself to either resist or bring the terrors of the oceans ashore as the sea-faring zombie pirates. From shambling musket-wielding warriors to shipwrecks reanimated into towering artillery pieces, you are sure to get your fix of piracy and destruction.
This battle royale title has dark humor and a ton of character customization, yet it could use more weapons and maps.
Underworld Ascendant is surprisingly unpolished and actively difficult to play. Without patches addressing the myriad bugs present in the current product, this one is a hard pass.
The Golf Club 2019 featuring PGA TOUR Review
Written by John GerritzenWhile it can be frustrating navigating bunkers and other hazards while you hone your skills, The Golf Club featuring PGA Tour 2019 provides a solid, enjoyable golfing experience.
While it delivers a strong start, Call of Cthulhu starts to stumble and fall near the end, demonstrating a lack of polish and poor localization.
SoulCalibur VI is the latest release in the series that offers plenty of characters to accommodate any playstyle as well as options to create your own fighter. There are two rich story modes along with your typical, more quick-play modes, including Arcade and Versus. In case you’re into RPG aspects, there’s even a mode that somewhat accommodates this.
Zombie smashing, blasting, and hacking has always been a gamer favorite across all platforms. OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead sadly did not hit the nail on the head, here. While good ideas and systems are present, the overwhelming bugs and poorly done multiplayer system truly grinds this title to a halt.
Though it is not without its flaws, MHOJ has plenty of appeal both for fans of My Hero Academia and for fans of the genre. All in all well-rounded, the characters and abilities encountered during play compliment each other well and though there are some notably stronger and weaker characters, the fact that you can almost always choose from a selection makes it easy to avoid the not-so-great ones.
Space Hulk: Tactics will force you to be technically and tactically proficient in every match. An economy of motion and combat will prove to be the utmost challenge for new and seasoned players alike. Thought this title contains a few bugs, by no means is it a deal breaker. Fans of Space Hulk and Warhammer 40k alike should find themselves fully at home in the fresh take on the series. Be warned that you will need to invest a lot of time into each match, as the gameplay loop itself is fairly slow. Each win you can truly feel and each loss hits you right in the gut. “In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium, there is only war.”
STARDROP is a lovingly crafted, first-person exploration title. If you enjoy a bit of mystery and like the idea of discovering the unknown in the depths of space then this is definitely the title for you.
This nostalgic, Pac-man-esque arcade title will have you laughing out loud and entertained for hours upon hours.
Good graphics can’t redeem some of the poorer design choices in SINNER: Sacrifice for Redemption. A very, very rough take on the Soulsborne formula, SINNER is really only for diehard fans that are truly desperate for something new to cut their teeth on.
LEGO DC Super-Villains offers a gigantic array of villains and heroes that all have their own unique abilities and quirks on top of a deep character creation tool that allows players to fill any of the gaps that the developers didn’t.
Strange Brigade - The Thrice Damned 1: Isle of the Dead Review
Written by Mel HawthorneNew maps, new puzzles, and the beginning of more adventures makes this content DLC worth checking out.
There are needed tweaks to make, but setting those aside, The Light Keeps Us Safe is an enjoyable, suspenseful experience just short of being a horror game. Though, eeriness is pervasive due to the dark atmosphere and audio. If you enjoy atmospheric titles that are suspenseful, you should check this out; I look forward to seeing how this game’s development goes.
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire - Seeker, Slayer, Survivor Review
Written by Bric HudsonWith new content, sounds, and Steam Workshop support, fans of Pillars of Eternity II will no doubt enjoy the new layers of challenge this DLC provides.
World War 3 had a rocky launch and will hopefully be fully redeemed by the development staff. The gameplay combined with the deep customization really does complete a modern military shooter dream. This title offers players the ability to be in full control of their gear and character, all while being fun. While this title is in the infant stages of Early Access, it shows great promise to be a fantastic experience in the long run. While map variation and different weapon choices and game modes seem to be limited as of now, I am sure we will see more and more content added in the future. Godspeed, The Farm 51.
While this gritty, gory, fast-paced title is worth your time, it’s not necessarily worth its asking price.
Too buggy to currently be considered playable, INSOMNIA: The Ark could eventually be an enjoyable experience in a cool, dieselpunk-futuristic world.
High on challenge and low on graphics intensity, this old-school remaster is well worth a look for RPG fans who either haven’t experience this trilogy yet, or who want to experience it again.
With the implementation of seasons and a new location, this installment in the series make for a wonderful, fulfilling racing experience, although it has a few minor bugs that need fixing.
